wot to do during dad's absence

Of course, If one were a dutiful daughter, one would make some pasta sauce from one's
homegrown tomatoes , and present one's father wif some of the same upon said dad's return from abroad from holidays.

Battle of the killer tomatoes.

Claudia and myself are engaged in a battle of the tomatoes.
I am growing some hydroponic plants, whilst Claudia employs the timehonored and tested
soil (borimg , tedious etc.) method.
Thing is , the plants are outgrowing their stakes (Claudia's) , while mine are poking their head over the neighbour's fence.
I think that sofar my plants are winning , perhaps we can post some pix.

The other day (saturday 19th Aug) to be exact , I spotted the firrst sign that spring is on the way here in ibistown.(Brisbane Australia, in case anyone stumbles on this blog, or is it stumbling into a blog, but I digress.)
Anyhow , what is this first sign of spring I hear you ask.
A 2 metre long python ambling leisurely acros the bikepath upon which I cycle virtually every day to or from work.
So instead of cuckoos or plovers eggs, for me, snakes = spring!!
